66 GT 40 Ski Wraps
Custom designed by SQUATCH Industries.
66 GT 40. The 66 GT 40 Skis were inspired by probably the most famous Ford GT40 ever to race. The 1966 Ford GT 40 Mk II was raced most famously by Ken Miles for Ford Motor Company. In 1966 Ken miles drove the car to wins at Sebring, Daytona, and a controversial second-place finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. During the 24-hour race, Ford Motor Company wanted their cars to finish the line 1,2,3. It is said that they ask Ken miles to slow down so the other cars could catch up. At the finish line, Bruce McLaren driving another Ford GT 40 crossed the line before Miles and therefore won the race.
These skis are designed to remind us all of the great GT40 Mark ll, its accomplishment, and its driver Ken Miles. The number on this ski is 66, for being a 1966 Ford GT 40, while the winning car that Ken Miles drove was number actually number 1.
